Firefly won't impose fuel surcharge!

on Monday 9 May 2011

Firefly, the Malaysian low-cost carrier, announced that it will not impose any fuel surcharge. The move follows the recent decision of its rival LCC, AirAsia, to resume fuel surcharges more than two years after abolishing the levy.

In a statement issued yesterday, Firefly's Managing Director, Eddy Leong said; “We acknowledge that we are not spared from the impact of increasing fuel prices, however in keeping to our promise of providing guaranteed low fares, we will not be imposing a fuel surcharge in the foreseeable future.”

Firefly is a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, which does impose a fuel surcharge on its tickets.
